Pedro Manuel Mamede Passos Coelho (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈpeðɾu mɐnuˈɛɫ mɐˈmɛðɨ ˈpasuʃ kuˈeʎu]; born 24 July 1964) is a Portuguese politician and the 118th Prime Minister of Portugal, in office since 2011. He is also leader of the Social Democratic Party (PSD). Passos Coelho started very early in politics, becoming the national leader of the youth branch of the PSD. A business manager by trade, he has led the XIX Governo Constitucional (19th Constitutional Government of Portugal) as head of government since 21 June 2011.
